How Our Network Works for Homeowners
Who You Talk To
Myth, then reality. Some people think a referral service sends its own crew. Drawntraditional Mold Help does not. When you reach out, you are connected with an independent provider in our network. That provider is a separate local business. They give you the quote, set the plan and do the work.
What Happens on the Call
The first talk is simple. The provider will likely ask a few things:
- Where in the home you see or smell the problem
- How long it has been there
- Whether there has been a leak, a flood or a roof issue
- Your town, so they can confirm they serve it
You do not need special words. Describe it the way you would to a neighbor. Providers may offer an inspection visit, and many can respond quickly, but timing depends on the provider.
What to Ask a Provider
Ask before you hire. Good questions get clear answers.
- Will you find the moisture source? A good answer says yes, and explains how. A red flag is a plan that only wipes the surface.
- Do you hold certifications for mold work, and can I see them? Certified mold testing and remediation should be easy to verify. Be wary of vague replies.
- Who does the testing, and who does the cleanup? Some homeowners prefer these to be different businesses. Ask how the provider handles that.
- Is the quote in writing, with the scope listed? Costs vary by job. A written quote protects you.
- How will you contain the area? Look for a real plan, such as sealing off the work zone.
Red flags include pressure to sign today, a price with no details, and claims that every dark spot is dangerous.
You Are in Control
Talking to a provider does not commit you to anything. You can ask for more than one quote. You can say no. You can take time to read your policy, since some policies may cover sudden damage. Providers can often help document damage for a claim, but the decision rests with you and your insurer.
